you cats are awesome. i mean, it's one thing to have a holiday to get into being a couple + exploring the love thing, but it's a whole other thing to get into being a *human* + exploring the humanity thing. (sorry to be a bit verbally unkempt; still waking up.) right on, pants + nick! + now i'm definitely going to see hotel rwanda. nick nolte's presence put me off, before. but this has changed my mind.
hey kiks. yesterday nick and i went to a student leadership conference on darfur at the holocaust museum and dallaire was the keynote. so amazing i cried. afterwards we went to see hotel rwanda and i cried some more. some couples observe valentines day. we prefer genocide day instead.
You are correct, there were aproximately 800,000 Tutsis killed in only 100 days during the genocide in Rwanda.
Hotel Rwanda is a great movie. In the movie Nick Nolte = Gen. Dalliare although they use a different name for him.
It is also true that UN essentially turned their back on the Rwandans during the genocide, just as they are now in Darfur. We should all try to help this time!
If you have not seen "Hotel Rwanda" you should definitely see it. The most fucked up part about it, is the UN turned their sholder to the whole thing. I believe almost 800 thousand people were killed.
how did you get to see him? thanks for adding the link to the frontline interview w/ him; i am too sleepy to read it now but when i am awake i will be into reading the whole thing.
