I wouldn't judge a book by it's cover. The weirdness is inside. I would rather give blow jobs for a living then compromise my art for narrow minded idiots that have no idea what art is. But there still is compromise. Making art in the real world is the compromise. I'm being disowned by my family right now because I can't sit around and listen to there narrow minded bullshit. The point is, our nation needs Jared's show, whomsoever represents him to the world! (Plug) And the fact that anyone who wanted could compete, it was so cool to see all of the different visions, styles, and techniques used to show support for one of our own. Everyone was exceptionally wierd, I felt, and that's what puts sauce on my pancakes. Congratulations tucker, bad ass vid, well deserved! Now for the truth... I am the Pope.
is a relative term. I liked all of the entries. Jared must have had a heck of a time choosing. I was particularly enthralled with laurafehl's miniaturization of Jared's art and wardrobe, and the dreamy quality of http://www.medicinefilms.com/users/sparkle/">sparkle's entry, and, well, lots of things from everyone's entries. I think that the different details and styles used by different people were great. It was fun all around.
but the lost hallway by starkravenmad was creepy, interesting, skilled, time-generous, colorful, and haunting. is the jared whitham show going to valorize melodic cutesy-impressive editing to substantive weirdness?
I can't wait. Bring it on, bitch! Although the anticipation almost killed me there, by the end. I'm not sure my heart can take it again. What am I saying? COntests are all good. Heart schmart.
