Aw! It is hard to let go of something that is always there that you care for and then all of a sudden it is gone. But you did give him a good life, if you hadn't rescued him who knows what would have happened. Good to know the other pup is coping too.
Tanx, he was a special one. We still have his little roomate/sister/girlfriend...she finally played with some other dogs yesterday and my heart leapt for joy. She is starting to get it...we gotta move on.
I never imagined it would hurt so bad. He was worth saving and I would do it all over again...and I will!
alls i ever do these days is cry...better to haved loved and lost yadda yadda...better to have shared life for sure. We gave, he gave we all won.

He was found by the side of the highway(I-80 outside of Gary, IN)
With a roller derby roller skate chained to his neck…the vet said he probably had not eaten in 2, maybe 3 (!) weeks…he had every worm there is, including heartworm, fleas etc. He was exceptionally keen, would go get things or people on command(JR!!!) He loved Belgian beer and asparagus tips and red peppers. He actually ate my homework once (a big drawing) and then threw up all over it!!
