Occupation(s): Full time student and artist, part time bookseller
Interests: Dancing harder than a motherfucker (either by myself or with others). Bike rides en masse. Cooking parties. My friends' bands. My bands. Graphic design. Medicine films! Being positive. Sexual assault awareness. Reclaiming romance from Hollywood and vapid fiction. Ray Bradbury. Kitties. Increasing my sophomoric understanding of feminism and postfeminism, critical theory, cultural studies, 20th century philosophy, deconstruction, semiotics, and post modern theory. Learning more about visual art through education and participation. Anarchist flavors of leadership and group dynamics. Practical politics. Sexuality. Learning new skills. Having immense goals that are entirely likely to be unrealistic. Populist and DIY art, music, and filmmaking. Poetry. Religious Texts. Mythology. Sexual identity.
The list goes on. My mouth waters at so many things.

Films (Non-Medicine): Instrument. Teen Movies. David Lynch films. Wes Anderson films. Charlie Kaufman films. El Topo. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (all other Terry Gilliam films as well). Y Tu Mama Tambien. Movies about Prison. Ralph Bakshi movies. Any stereotypical Noir movies or 1950's films with rugged, rebellious, and pissed off (but elusively sensitive) Male protagonists. Orson Welles films. Ravenous.
...I actually hate watching movies most of the time unless I am doing other things in the forefront.
Books: Graphic Design collections. Zines. Orson Scott Card. Joseph Campbell. Carl Jung. Ray Bradbury. Alan Moore. Charles Bukowski. Occasionally I will dip into classic literature.
The "introducing..." series (such as "Introducing Derrida"); I've read almost the entire collection. I reallly like the brilliant visual emphasis in the delivery of the intellectually heavy content.
I abhor most of the new pomo horseshit like Dave Eggers (who has the potential to be good if he weren't so goddamned solipsistic and self referential). The executions just end up being to clever for their own goddamn good. Who are they writing for?
Artists: Rothko. Steadman. Raymond Pettibon. Darger. Picasso. Davinci. Aboriginal Art. Derek Hesse. Christy Road. Amputees. Maurice Sendak. Tony D'Terlizzi. Escher. Paul Rand. Jake Bannon.
Heroes: Ian Mackaye. Zac Davis. The drummers of Mastadon, Lightning Bolt, and Hella. Charles Furment. My big brother Bill. Bryan Beardsley. Ralph Steadman. Henry Rollins. Jimi Hedrix. Daniel Higgs. Pete Stolp. Stephanie Ketnick.
Enemies: Sexual predators and cokeheads. Pretentious artists and critics.
Dreams: To produce a thick library of work behind me in every medium I am interested in (which is damn near all of them)... and to not die of starvation while doing it.
To make a mark on culture.
To bring me and my friends into a better life.
To be healthy throughout.
